1.《大事なのは知識か、愛か？》

人の最も役に立つ資産は、

“知識の詰まった頭脳”ではなく、

聴くために開かれた耳と、進んで助ける手を持った

“愛でいっぱいの心”なのです。

2.《憎しみの種から愛を刈り取れるか？》

人は、蒔かないものを刈り取ることはできない。

もし私たちが、置かれた共同体の中で、

“憎しみ”の種しか蒔かないとしたら、

どうやって“愛”の実を刈り取ることができるだろうか？

3.《人が求めるのは流暢なトークか、静かな傾聴か？》

優しくあることは、正しくあることより大切です。

多くの場合、人が求めているのは、

話をする“際立った知性”ではなく、

話を聴く“特別の心”なのです。

To be kind is more important than to be right. Many times what people need is not a brilliant mind that speaks but a special heart that listens.
