法律家が、お金だけのためではなく、人間の尊厳のために法を執行するとき、
医師が、病人を心から気遣うゆえに治療し、保険会社の規定に聞く代わりに､自分の患者の声に耳を傾けるとき、
牧師が、あわれみの心をもって福音を語るとき、
教会員が、単なる出席統計の数ではなく、神の家族の一員であるとき、
会社の最高経営者が、自分の賞与よりも社員のことを心にかけるとき、
多国籍企業が、会社の現金収支よりも、環境や原住民のことに配慮するとき、
…とき、…とき、…とき、まだまだ続きます。

そうです、我が友よ！
あなたと私が“無知の沈黙”を破ろうと決心するとき、
あなたと私が望みをもって信じ、愛のうちに行動するとき、
――そのときにのみ、私たちはより良き世界を夢見ることができるのです！

無知と無関心は、あなたが考え、想像する以上に、“破壊的”です。
