私のクリスチャンの友人の何人かは、妊娠中絶合法化に反対です。彼らは出生前の命に思いを寄せますが、すでにこの世に生まれた移民や難民は受け入れを拒むのです。問題なのは、彼らが、まだ生まれていない命をこの世に生まれさせるためには闘うのに、ひとたび彼らが生まれ､成長して難民になると、とたんに“招かれざる民”にしてしまうことです。私も妊娠中絶反対であり、いまだ生まれざる子どもたちの権利のために立ち上がります。それは間違いないことですが、同時に私は、すでにこの世に生を受けながら、招かれざる人々、拒まれた人々のためにも立ち上がる者です。

Some of my fellow Christians claim they are ProLife: they care about the unborn, but they reject migrants and refugees who are already born. The problem is that they fight for the unborn to be born, and after these are born and grow up to become refugees, then suddenly they are unwanted. I am ProLife, and I too stand for the rights of the unborn children, no doubt about it, but at the same time, I am standing for the unwanted and rejected ones who are already born.
