桜の葉よ、さようなら
来年の ある春の日に、
富士山の あのすそ野で
再びお前と会おう！

その日、夜になると、
タイル張りの池に浮かぶお前を、
月と赤い鯉が訪れるだろう。
そして夜明けまで
共に踊り戯れるだろう。

桜の葉よ、さようなら
来年の ある春の日に、
富士山の あのすそ野で
再びお前と会おう！

その日、
お前は私に新しい詩をささやくだろう。
そして私はお前に新しい歌を書こう！

 On a new spring day
 By the hills of mount Fuji
 We shall meet again!

 The moon and the redfish
 Will visit you
 in the tiled pool at night
 and together you will dance
 until daybreak
