◆信仰は家庭から（2）◆

あなたの信仰深い人格を、家族の中でも保ち続けなさい。誰からも、「あの人の信仰は地に足が着ている」と言われるようにするのだ。この世でと同じように、それを家庭の中でもよく知られ、読まれるようにするのです（訳注:Ⅱコリント3:2）。そこにおいて、自分の性格をよく磨きなさい。家庭の中にいる自分が、本当の自分だからだ。家の外の人生というのは、しばしば”借り物”の役どころであり、大いなる舞台における俳優の持ち場のようなものだが、ひとたび家庭に戻れば、“魔法使い”は取り除かれ、人は生来の自分に戻る。あなたの家庭での務めを、心して果たしなさい。

Carry out your godliness in your family. Let every one say that you have practical religion. Let, it be known and read in the house, as well as in the world. Take care of your character there; for what we are there, we really are. Our life abroad is often but a borrowed part, the actors part of a great scene, but at home the wizard is removed, and men are what they seem. Take care of your home duties.
